She was a finalist in MTV`s Legally Blonde: The Musical – The Search for Elle Woods and finished fourth overall. She has performed on Broadway, as well as in national tours and regional theaters. Concerts included Hurlbert (Something Rotten National Tour!) and Zakrin (Cruel Intentions: The Musical, The Great Comet) as well as Rhiannon Hansen (Legally Blonde National Tour), Natalie Lander (The Middle), Cassie Okenka (School of Rock, Wicked), Rachel Potter (The X Factor, The Addams Family) and Libby Servais (Wicked, Lysistrata Jones). Zakrin first came to prominence in 2008 as a finalist on the MTV reality show Legally Blonde: The Musical – The Search for Elle Woods.
She made her professional acting debut as an understudy for the role of Elle Woods in the first U.S. tour of the musical Legally Blonde.[4] She and Laura Bell Bundy took over the role, while Becky Gulsvig was unable to act. She remained in the cast during the show`s move to Broadway from fall 2016 until 2017, when it officially closed.[12] In 2017, she created the role of Kathryn Merteuil in the off-Broadway production of Cruel Intentions: The `90s Musical and remained in the show until its closure in 2018. She also studied the roles of Delphi and the moaning Myrtle.[17] Production was temporarily halted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In October 2021, Zakrin announced via Instagram that she would join the cast of Once Upon a One More Time during rehearsal at Sidney Harman Hall in Washington D.C. as Ariel (based on the character of The Little Mermaid).[18] [19] Production began on November 30, 2021 and ended on January 9, 2022.
