The self-help resources provided by the Kansas Judicial Branch are designed to help you find legal advice and information, work with an attorney, and represent you in certain legal matters. The hotline serves all Kansas residents 60 years of age or older, regardless of income. The hotline provides seniors with access to a lawyer who advises them on civil legal matters and refers them to other resources if needed. Through the Legal Aid Clinic, KU law student articling students provide legal assistance to low-income clients at Lawrence Municipal Court and Douglas County District Court. The number of cases at the clinic is divided into four general areas: KLS deals with cases in the following areas: consumer, work, family, youth, health, housing, income security and individual rights.
