The clinic provides legal services to the City of Ottawa. The clinic is staffed by lawyers and law students and provides public legal education, legal advice, and representation in court for a variety of criminal, family, and tenant matters. LSRS will help you find a lawyer or paralegal who will provide legal services in the legal field that meet your needs. The lawyers or paralegals who participate in the service will offer you up to half an hour of free consultation. This advice can be given by telephone or in person (the choice is up to the legal representative). Family violence, crime, family, immigration and refugees, civil, housing, government support, out of province Provides services to low-income individuals; Services include legal representation for eligible clients who appear in court without a lawyer, mutual legal assistance requests and telephone information, legal resources and referrals to other social welfare agencies, a certificate program for complex and serious cases. The clinic offers free legal services to anyone who is financially eligible and whose cases fall within our mandated service areas. Students at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University are automatically eligible for funding.
