If you are a University of Arizona student who needs legal advice or information, please follow here to make an appointment through our online booking system Sandra Day O`Connor College of Law at Arizona State University strives to produce lawyers who recognize their ethical commitments to the communities in which they work and live. As an ASU law student, you have many opportunities to participate in service and pro bono activities. Not only do you make a significant contribution to the community, but you also improve your legal education through hands-on experience. Please note: ** Legal services are not available if the counterpart is another student or university. Clinical courses are an integral part of balanced legal education. In today`s competitive legal environment, students with clinical experience have a distinct advantage when it comes to finding rewarding positions in their chosen fields. ASUA`s Office of Legal Services is currently offering UArizona students a half-hour legal consultation with a licensed Arizona state attorney free of charge. We do not provide legal representation in a case, which means we cannot act as a lawyer or work on your case for the long term. However, we can inform you about your legal rights and obligations, give you advice and recommendations and answer many questions. ASUA`s vision is to enrich the student experience by cultivating an inclusive community that develops leaders, promotes the well-being of the student body, and unites students under one strong voice. Our mission is to serve, engage and strengthen the student body through advocacy and the provision of programs and resources. Under the direct supervision of faculties and practicing lawyers, most clinics offer the opportunity to assume direct responsibility for clients in a law firm.

In addition to providing legal services, each clinic has a classroom component where students explore issues of competence and ethics, the relationship between lawyer and client. Alternative dispute resolution and the role of the lawyer as a lawyer in the court system. For generations, university has been associated with alcohol consumption. I do not condone illegal activities, but it would be naïve to think that people wait until they are 21 to drink. If you`re under the age of 21, the two most common scenarios in which you encounter alcohol are at a party or with a fake ID to enter a bar. Although most consider this behaviour to be children, ASU and Tempe police see it as criminal activity. Here`s the good news, my law firm is located a few miles from Arizona State University. We have represented hundreds of students on all kinds of criminal charges. If you`re facing a criminal complaint, you`re not the first person to call us, and you certainly won`t be the last. We understand that you may be too embarrassed to tell your parents. While you may not want to have this conversation with your parents, it`s important that you discuss your case with a lawyer to find out what options you have.

If you go to court without a lawyer or sound legal advice, you may very well make a deal that can ruin the rest of your life. My office is pleased to offer free legal advice to students at Arizona State University. Please call our office so that we can discuss your case and your rights. The office of the Student Law Department is located on the 3rd floor of the Studentenwerk, above the main bookshop. Part of eliminating this stigma is enforcing alcohol laws for minors. Believe it or not, if you are named or arrested for alcohol consumption by a minor, a minor in possession of alcohol or possession of a false id, you will now be prosecuted. Being a student is not an excuse in the eyes of the legal system. Learn more about the limited practice certified under Rule 39 and how to apply as a non-credit student or graduate. Since 1969, the clinical program at Arizona State University`s Sandra Day O`Connor College of Law has helped students develop the legal expertise and professional judgment they need to bridge the gap between the study of law and the practice of law. For these reasons, Sandra Day O`Connor, a retired U.S. Supreme Court justice, called clinical experience one of the most important aspects of legal education.
