Legal administrative assistants often begin their careers as receptionists in law firms or in the legal departments of large organizations, or as junior legal secretaries working under the supervision of people with more experience. Designed by and for legal professionals, ALA`s instructor-led courses and webinars cover topics such as customer experience, compliance, and training for legal support staff. This way, your paralegals benefit from their own access to the website, receive emails specific to their membership status, benefit from registration for training courses, an annual general meeting (if applicable), conferences and spring, summer and fall events at prices specific to their membership status. Employment growth in this occupational group is not expected in the coming years, mainly due to office automation and technological developments, which have reduced the demand for administrative assistants. However, among the areas of expertise of the administrative profession, paralegals have more favourable labour market conditions and better prospects for full-time work.

As they gain experience, Junior Legal Administrative Assistants can move up to Senior Legal Administrative Assistant positions. With further training, they can move on to other professions such as paralegals and related professions. 4.
